Bewaffnet mit Geigerzähler und Blei-Tabletten führt diese Reise in den Bezirk Technics Zwölfzehn, wo die Nadel bald weit in Richtung Delphic ausschlägt. Die Animateure toben, der Song schwelgt in kontaminierten Gefühlen und alle setzen zum Club-Tanz an: Links, rechts, Wechselschritt!

Deutsch: Neulich beim Metzger: Ein Pfund, bitte! Und geschnitten hat sich ein jeder, der hier nicht sofortgleich oder am Stück über die Theke hechten wollte. Darf’s auch ein wenig mehr sein? Mit einer Extra-Portion electro noir entern die australischen Spiegelkugel-Spezis von Grafton Primary die hiesige Kulinarik, dass einem das Wasser nur so auf die Tanzfläche tropft. Auch für Vegetarier geeignet.

Hochprozentige Luftblasen platzen reihenweise und mit jedem hysterischen Riff in dieser Ode an trunkene Textnachrichten in der Nacht, als Du noch dachtest: wir kriegen das alles schon irgendwie hin. Hörst Du es? Poppen und Luftblasen aus Whisky in einem Song: Das ist Lyrik.

Deutsch: Neulich im Café To Go: Einen Large-Decaf-Skim-Soy-Milk-Chai-Latte mit extra Shot bitte! Wie dumm sich die Barrista gefühlt haben muss, als ich Ihr diese fehlerfreie Liebeserklärung vortrug. Hätten The Cure etwas von Minnesang verstanden, dieser Song wäre längst gesungen und im Pappbecher auf die Straßen getragen worden. Schon subversiv, wie sich The Drums gegen die To-Go-Kultur auflehnen und einfach mal To Stay bestellen wollen. Zugegeben, die Barrista ist erfunden. Geblieben wären wir trotzdem gerne.

So macht es auch dieser Song, der einem die Wartezeit auf den tieferen Sinn verkürzen will, erst zögernd, dann fordernd, irgendwann kennerisch durchatmend. Immerhin haben wir Eintritt bezahlt, gewartet und harren der Dinge, die da kommen.
